Interlibrary Loan
Items that are not available in the DCTC Library can be requested through interlibrary loan (ILL). You need a valid, activated DCTC ID card in order to submit ILL requests.
To search for and request an item from another MnPALS Library:
- Select All MnPALS Libraries from the Libraries and Collections drop down menu in the upper left corner of MnPALS.
- Search the catalog.
- Click on the title of an item to display its catalog record.
- Click on the ILL request link.
- Enter your barcode and password, select DCTC Library from the drop down menu, and click on the Log On button.
- Click on the ILL request link again.
- Fill in all of the mandatory fields.
- Enter your assignment's due date in the Not Needed After? field.
- Click on the Go button.
To request an item that isn't available in any MnPALS Library:
- Go to the ILL Book Request page.
- Fill in all of the mandatory fields.
- Enter your assignment's due date in the Not Needed After? field.
- Click on the Go button.
To request an article that isn't available at DCTC:
- Go to the ILL Journal Request page.
- Fill in all of the mandatory fields.
- Enter your assignment's due date in the Not Needed After? field.
- Click on the Go button.
You will receive a notice by mail and/or e-mail when your ILL items are ready to pick up at the DCTC Library. Please return your ILL items to the DCTC Library by their due dates.

If Barbara is not available, you may ask any of the other Library staff members for help.
