Find Books

eBooks

Just because you're doing research online doesn't mean you can't use books. eBooks are digitally scanned books that you can view online. The DCTC Library provides access to 8,453 eBooks through NetLibrary, a division of OCLC. If you're accessing NetLibrary from off campus, you'll need to log in first; see our Get Started page if you've never done this before.

Public libraries

If you can't visit the DCTC Library in person, find your nearest public library with the U.S. Department of Education's Search for Public Libraries tool. Just enter your zip code and the distance you're willing to travel, then click on the Search button, and you'll get a list of public libraries in your area.

If you don't already have a library card, you can get one within minutes of walking into your local public library. You'll need to prove your residency, so bring your driver's license or an equivalent form of picture ID.

Be sure to ask a librarian about interlibrary loan (ILL). If your local library doesn't have the books you need, you can request books from other libraries and have them delivered to your library. A librarian can also help you find information from other sources you may not have considered.
